Dr. Barton Kline was an educator for all of his adult life. He served in several high schools in the State of Nebraska. He was the Superintendent of Schools in Beatrice when he accepted the Presidency of CSC. He and his wife were a real asset to the Chadron community and to CSC. Pete and Louis Mantalica were born in Lead, SD. Both graduated from CSC. Louis in 1934 and Pete in 1936. Louis was an outstanding football and basketball player throughout college. Pete was physically handicapped and was the varsity equipment manager while in college. Frank Sides was early settler in Western Nebraska. He and his sister attended CSC in the early 20's. He was a highly successful rancher who recognized the value of an education and wanted to contribute to the efforts of a CSC student.
